Abstract

|
Ultrasonographic estimation of amniotic fluid volume is an important adjunct to assessment of fetal well-being. However no single method has emerged as most predictive. Many ultrasonographers use single-deepest-pocket measurement. More recently,
Phelan
and coworkers introduced the increasing popular technique termed the amniotic fluid index. Therefore, We study normal gestational changes in amniotic fluid volume using single-deepest-pocket measurement and 4-quardrant amniotic fluid index. A
group
of
1050 normal pregnancies were evaluted prospectively. This study provides normative data for amniotic fluid volume through normal pregnancy.
